Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former number one, has endured a torrid period, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first championship since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since spring of that year.
Victory also means he has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on court had led some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.
However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an improved serving game.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the final five games to take the lead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.
He saved 4 early-game break points in a close third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, he secured the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
